Matthias Strolz grew up as a mountain farmer's son in the Klostertal valley in western Austria. As the founder of NEOS, he demonstrated how an idea can grow into a movement. Under his leadership, the party entered the Austrian Parliament in 2013 and the European Parliament in 2014. He led the parliamentary group in the National Council until 2018, at which point he stepped down from his political roles to be more present for his family, both in terms of time and emotional connection.
Today, he focuses on how individuals, companies, organizations, and societies can unlock their potential and consciously shape change.

Matthias Strolz is married, a father of three daughters, and lives with his family in Vienna.
